Being direct decendents of Acura's exotic NSX sports car, it should come as no surprise that the 1997 Acura Integra Sports Coupe and Sports Sedan lineup abounds with groundbreaking technology, craftsmanship, refinement and performance.

Available in four Sports Coupe trim levels (RS, LS, GS and GS-R) and three Sports Sedan trim levels (LS, GS and GS-R), the Integra not only is Acura's top-selling automobi1e, it has been the top seller in its category since 1994.
The 1997 Integra RS, LS and GS models are equipped with a 1.8-liter, 140-horsepower, DOHC, 16-valve engine. They are available with a standard 5-speed manual or optional electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is equipped with Acura's Grade Logic Control System to reduce "gear hunting" for optimal uphill acceleration and downhill engine braking.
The GS-R models feature a l.8-liter, 170-horsepower, DOHC, 16-valve engine equipped with the innovative Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system pioneered in the NSX. The GS-R is available exclusively with a performance-oriented, close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission.
All Integra models feature a fully independent double-wishbone suspension system for responsive handling and ride comfort. The GS and GS-R models feature additional suspension refinements for more sporty performance, including new, 16-spoke machine-finished alloy wheels equipped with P195/ 55 R15 Michelin XGT-V4 high-performance tires.
Standard on all Integra models are power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, ventilated at the front and solid at the rear. Also standard on the LS, GS and GS-R models is a standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). This system is designed to minimize pedal kickback and maximize pedal feel, helping the driver retain steering control even during maximum braking.
The Integra uses front and rear crumple zones designed to help absorb crash energy before it reaches the passenger compartment. Side impact protection has been bolstered to meet 1997 federal standards. In addition, the Integra uses special side-impact pads in the door to further absorb impact energy. Dual Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) air bags are standard on all Integra models.
The Integra LS, GS and GS-R models include a high-capacity air conditioning system and power moonroof as standard equipment.
All 1996 Integra models are equipped with a complete list of comfort and convenience items, such as a standard tilt-adjustable steering column, power windows and door mirrors, a power antenna, remote trunk/ fuel-filler door releases, and, new for 1997, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD music system.
Manufacturers suggested retail prices are: $16,100 for the RS Sports Coupe, $18,850 for the LS Sports Coupe, $20,600 for the GS Sports Coupe, and $21,100 for the GS-R Sports Coupe, $19,650 for the LS Sports Sedan, $21,150 for the GS Sports Sedan, and $21,400 for the GS-R Sports Sedan.
