Honda Marine electronic fuel-injected (EFI) 4-stroke engines tied for the highest ranking in customer satisfaction according to the prestigious J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Marine Engine Competitive Information StudySM.
Among 4-stroke outboards, Honda engines received a score of 919 on a 1,000-point scale. Honda owners reported very high satisfaction with the reliability and cruising quietness of their engines.
Presented with the award at the 2005 Miami International Boat Show, Honda Marine's Senior Manager John Fulcher said, "This recognition is quite an honor, especially for our dealers who dedicate themselves to providing the industry's best customer service. Honda Marine would like to thank its customers for expressing their extreme confidence in our engines."
In the 2005 study, customer satisfaction scores were higher for 4-stroke outboards than 2-strokes. It also showed that 4-stroke engines now outnumber 2-strokes in coastal fishing, pontoon boat and runabout market segments. J.D. Power and Associates indicated that new boat owners are becoming increasingly aware that higher technology engines deliver a superior overall boating experience.
In addition to the J.D. Power and Associates honor, Honda Marine also recently received the 2004 Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award for providing excellent customer satisfaction.
