Acura Podiums at 101st Running of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

  • James Robinson pushed his wild Acura NSX Type S Active Aero Study to a podium finish
  • Acura has earned a podium finish at Pikes Peak for 11 consecutive years
  • Top-10 finishes for the new Integra Type S and TLX Type S

Acura earned four top-10 finishes and a podium in the 101st running of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo this weekend, with Acura engineer James Robinson finishing third in the highly competitive Time Attack 1 class with a time of 10:11.950.

Making its racing debut, the 2024 Integra Type S driven by fourth generation racer Loni Unser finished ninth in the Exhibition Class, with a time of 11:34.709. An impressive drive for the sophomore Pikes Peak racer. Unser’s family is American racing royalty with nine Indy 500 wins and twenty-six Pikes Peak overall crowns.

Acura engineer Paul Hubers returned for his second year on the mountain behind the wheel of an Integra 1.5T built by the Honda of America Racing Team (HART). His production-spec Integra completed the 12.42-mile course in 12:08.535, achieving a tenth-place finish in the Exhibition Class. Fellow Acura engineer and Pikes Peak veteran Jordan Guitar drove his HART-built TLX Type S to an impressive time of 11:12.164, for a seventh-place finish in the Exhibition Class.

Motorsports is a critical component of Acura’s commitment to Precision Crafted Performance, and its Pikes Peak efforts are a pure expression of this ethos. All Acura race team entries are prepped and crewed by a volunteer team of engineers out of the company’s R&D facilities in Ohio to further sharpen their performance-focused driving and engineering skills as they test future technologies for Acura production vehicles.

This is the performance brand’s 13th consecutive year competing at Pikes Peak, with the Acura team amassing an impressive 12 first place in-division finishes, over 30 podiums and multiple records.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado is one of America’s longest running motorsports competitions. Since 1916, drivers from all over the world, in a wide variety of vehicles and from multiple motorsports disciplines, race against the clock as they take on the challenging mountain course, starting at 9,390 feet and climbing to the 14,115-foot summit.
