Acura 3.2 TL Named to AAA 'Top Cars' List for Fourth Straight Year

The Acura 3.2 TL luxury performance sedan was named one of the Top 12 Cars of 2002 in the AAA Auto Guide Awards announced this week. The TL is one of only two vehicles to make the list each year since 1999.

"It's a tremendous honor to make this list four years in a row," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales. "The TL continues to distinguish itself against a tremendous amount of top flight competition."

A panel of AAA experts tested more than 200 vehicles in a variety of driving conditions. Awards were given to class winners who accumulated the most points in categories including ride and handling, acceleration and braking, fuel economy, comfort and convenience, storage space and value.

The 3.2 TL has been the number one selling luxury sedan in its class for the past three years with 2001 sales totaling 69,484 units. The 2003 3.2 TL features a 225 horsepower V-6 engine with 5-speed Sequential SportShift' automatic transmission, four-wheel-independent double-wishbone suspension and 16-inch wheels and tires. The TL Type-S boosts engine output to 260 horsepower, features a sport-tuned suspension for even more responsive handling and adds 17-inch wheels and tires.

For the 2003 model year, all TL models equipped with the optional Acura Satellite-Linked Navigation System receive the OnStar" in-vehicle communications service as standard equipment.
