Acura Sets Sales Record for September

Marking its 10th consecutive record-breaking month, Acura posted record September sales of 16,271 vehicles to surpass the previous mark of 13,417 set in 1988, an increase of 21.3 percent versus last year, the division announced today. Year-to-date, Acura sales rose to 146,500 units, up 15.6 percent compared to 2003.

The TL performance luxury sedan was the top-selling Acura model for the 12th straight month and posted a new September sales record, selling 6,500 units, up 70.6 percent over last year and surpassing the previous record of 6,032 set in 2000. Year-to-date TL sales jumped to 58,128, exceeding last year by 47.3 percent. Additionally, the TSX sports sedan set a new September sales record, up 29.5 percent compared to 2003, with sales of 2,825 units surpassing the previous record of 2,094 vehicles. Year-to-date TSX sales are up 77.5 percent.

The MDX luxury SUV also set a new September sales record, selling 4,958 vehicles, surpassing the previous mark of 4,589 set in 2003. Year-to-date sales increased to 42,910 units, up 2.7 percent compared to 2003.

"There is one thing no one can debate - Acura is on a roll," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales. "And we have no plan of letting up."
